Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
For the Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church project, we led a comprehensive restoration and waterproofing initiative aimed at preserving the building's integrity. Our scope of work included the removal and reinstallation of horizontal pavement joint sealant between the building and the concrete flatwork. We also conducted extensive cleaning of the building's surfaces to prepare them for new materials and finishes. Our team performed tuckpointing of stone veneer cracks and applied a clear RTV silicone water repellent across all stone veneer surfaces. In addition, we meticulously ground stucco cracks, installed backer rods and silicone sealant, and applied a silicone-based elastomeric coating to all stucco veneer surfaces. The west façade step walls required demolition and reinstallation of stucco veneer before the coating was applied. We also addressed all window and door openings, as well as steel accent joints and miscellaneous penetrations, with silicone sealant to ensure complete waterproofing. Our team worked on installing silicone sealant at joints between new roofing edge metals, copings, trim, and existing veneer. In addition, we prepared and primed various steel components—including the steeple, guardrails, handrails, columns, and gutters—before applying paint. Finally, we abraded the inner surfaces of steel gutters and applied a reinforced waterproof membrane to all butted joints. The roofing assembly also required removal and reinstallation of concrete roof tiles, battens, and underlayments to ensure a secure and watertight roof. This project was a thorough effort to restore, protect, and enhance the building’s structural and aesthetic integrity.
