Statler Hotel
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Statler Hotel and Old Dallas Central Library is a renovation/expansion of the historic buildings. After nearly three decades, The Statler was the first major hotel built in Dallas, completed in 1956. The hotel was the first of its kind to use updated construction techniques. The Statler played a role in establishing Dallas as a business mecca. The Y-shaped building contains 710 rooms and a ballroom; capable of hosting 2,200 people. This restoration project consisted of repairing historic masonry. Replacing broken or non-code compliant glass throughout the building. Also, we were tasked with wet sealing the existing curtain wall system, restoring the curtain wall system and porcelain panels, and installing a new davit and tie-back system for exterior façade access. The construction plan was to restore the appearance and maintain the building for many years in the future.
